Antonelli: "The old suspension will bring back the feeling"

The young driver openly admitted that the new suspension, introduced at Imola, had caused him to lose confidence and negatively impacted his performance. Antonelli said, “I hope this change brings back the feeling. Since Imola, with the exception of Canada, I've had a very hard time driving the car and lost confidence.”
“I tried to keep my own riding style, but it didn't work out that way.”
“George adapted better because he has a slightly different riding style, but I struggled a lot during the European season.”
"I was making the car even more unstable. It was hard to feel if the car was going to hold when you were pushing. If you don't have confidence, that makes a big difference."
"In my case, whenever I pushed harder, the car gave me negative signals. That's why I tried to adapt my driving to the car, but I didn't succeed well. I hope to find the feeling I had at the beginning of the season again with the old suspension," he said.
Antonelli stated that the decision became inevitable after the disappointing weekend at Spa:
“After qualifying in Spa I said to myself very clearly, ‘I can’t perform like this.’ It was hard to accept that, but that awareness helps you refocus and work harder.”
